Malaysian Care!

Anand and I went outing last Saturday. It was my suggestion that we roam around Petaling Street and take some shots. We had our breakfast at a stall famous with porridge.. though, my stomach wasn't favoring porridge so I hitched my way towards a stall selling dried meat bun..yumyum( forged from baby Maverick)

The porridge was okay flushed down with the "liang cha" though Anand said that it was "self proclaiming" for being the Best porridge.

After our breakfast, I proposed to walking down an aisle concentrated with crowd. I have to admit that it was so weird..selling loads of old chunks, from shampoos to motorcycles, you name it. From my human instinct, I could say that they were all stolen goods!!Good Lord! It was an eyesore,to make it simple..

Moving down to Masjid Jamek, I sighted an old Indian beggar begging for money and sympathy( I bet). I thought it would be a great photo with the background of 3children having arms on each others shoulder which surely implies a message of "supportive". I felt intense uneasiness.. I told Anand to wait for me while I take a shot of him (from the back)--as below.

From my position of the shot, I reckon that there are more than thousands of people walk pass that spot in a day, but sadly, no one helped him..inc myself.

This, would surely imports and reflects how caring out society of 1Malaysia is! I felt slight shamefulness at this point but To speculate what others are thinking will drive us insane, each one of us is unique..we act as life thought us..

Currently Addicted to Plants vs Zombies

Anand and me are currently addicted to this Plants vs Zombie game..firstly introduced by my sis, Grace when I was back in Sabah last year. I am more into Zen Garden in which I have pots of plant and they will reward me with either silver coins, gold coins or diamonds...hehe..but Anand is more into survival and adventure parts..groups of zombie will come and attack your plants in order to "eat your brains" ...that's a nice game really...planning to get more of similar games..

Natural Fan-saster

I will be awarded with Noble Prize if I can stand another minute sitting in this room with a background music of creaking noise made by our ceiling fan. It's like literally living in a bird park!! I can't stand it any longer..!!

 Everyone, this is the culprit

CHICHARITO!!

Chicharitho trying to tell that his eyes are green!!

Isn't he cute?? Yeah...he is Javier Hernandez nicknamed Chicharito (little pea) as his father, a former footballer was nicknamed Chicharo (pea) for his green eyes..
He is currently playing Forward position for Manchester United FC and I first saw him played last Sunday in MU vs Chelsea Community Shield at Restaurant Nainas. I was literally forced by Anand to watch that 10pm match (but I busied myself playing Bejeweled game in his Nexus One while keeping an eye at the score line)
I needn't to say much when supporters were hooraying for MU. After the match, Anand started to sing Chicharito's name in an indescribable tune which sounded almost like frying rice shockingly--chicha..chicha..CHICHARITO!!!
But I personally feel that Javier Hernandez looks like Edward Furlong...one of the actor in American History X..take a look, I might be wrong..

Beer Can Chicken

I don't know, this seems hilarious to me..BEER CAN CHICKEN..haha..
Just read about it in today (10/08/10) The Star newspaper, perhaps the insert pictures caught my eyes and after went through the whole writing, I realised that it is nothing new but definitely fresh to me!

Look at this, it's like a chicken sitting on grill waiting to be eaten..hahaha..
Here are some important notes on BCC I've jotted down which may be useful to you (if you wanna try this at home)....
It is not compulsorily to use BEER can (as it may be non-Halal to some of our friends), instead of that, we can opt to use any soda can.
Though, the logic behind using a beer can is that beer helps steam the chicken without giving it any beer flavouring and ensures that it will not be overcooked or dry. Still, I'm pretty sure any soda can will do about the same.
It was stated that its BEST to grill the BCC over indirect heat (away from the heat source) for even results. By doing this, we can prevent burning or charring of the legs, which are closest to the heat source.
Once the chicken is done, be very careful when removing it from the grill. (Wild guess--due to explosive or burning ability of alcohol??) The best way is to slide a spatula under the can and using a metal thong, hold the neck steadily before transferring to a plate.
May be I should try out this out...

Look at this, there are even grilling accessories to hold the beer cans!

Serial Killer Daniel Camargo Barbosa

 Cover of the book

In the Encyclopedia of Serial Killer by Brian Lane and Wilfred Gregg (1992), with a cup of hot Green Tea in my hand, I read about an interesting short story of Daniel Camargo Barbosa. It was really thrilling that I figure must be shared with you.

Daniel Camargo Barbosa had been convicted in Colombia for brutally raped and murdered his 9 yr old victim. Though in 1986, he escaped from prison to Ecuador and commenced nationwide series of killing young children. When he was finally arrested, he admitted to a total of 71 murders!!
51 young girls disappeared in just a period of 14 months! At 3 of the known murder scenes, a similar clue was found--a discarded sweet wrapping paper which was believed to be used to lure the children before raping and killing them.
When Camargo was finally captured, he admitted the killings and led investigators to the bodies of 6 recent victims. He confirmed to the police that the children had been lured with sweets and ballpoint pens, and he gave a cynical and kinky explanation for choosing children that he wanted virgins "because they cried" this apparently gave him greater satisfaction!! What an animal!
At his trial in September 1989, incredibly he was sentenced to only 16 years imprisonment---the maximum punishment under Ecuador's criminal code!
Does it means I will still get a 16 years of imprisonment even though i killed 709 people, did 5 arson and say 65 kidnaps in Ecuador??Lets hope Antonio Valencia won't kill somebody.. wow..that's amazing and wicked!
Thadah!! It was reported that he died in prison murdered by Luis Masache Narvaez, one of his victim's cousin..what goes around, comes around..

Becareful, NOT to be cheated!

Yoohoo!! i've found my miracle skin solution ----> BEDAK SEJUK!! a zillion 'thanks' to NEW YORK SKIN SOLUTION...actually, there is nothing to be proud of NYSS, although the  name might sound authentic to some individuals (I don't exclude myself :p) but I don't think they are practising business ethnic. If they do, probably greeting the customers. I had a real life experience at an outlet in IOI mall Puchong! I don't wish ppl will be trapped by free treatment or etc anymore.. :( I would now begin my story...
One fine day, I was browsing some magazines n saw an NYSS advertisement (or as advertised in the TV) which mentioned that we can get a free skin analysis + 1 skin treatment + 1set of product when we join an sms contest. Being naive, I took my hp n started sms-ing, I chose an outlet and waiting impatiently for few days when they finally rang n made an appointment! I started fantasying of having perfect skin..hahahaha...

When i arrived at the particular outlet, i was friendly greeted by 3 staff members sitting behind the counter. They gave me an impression of professionalism (which i later found out to be unprofessionalism).
After some time, I was being shown to 2 claimed beauty therapists into a spaceless room (to accommodate 3people including myself). There were computer set up and 2 high chairs. They started "barking" while "Kate"  started analysing my skin with computer instruments. To my sense of occasionally indulging myself in beauty parlors, I could tell that she is a trainee or at least, a new staff. She was not as talkative as the other therapist (which is good) and she was hesitating when doing things( which is awkward.) The worst part was having her as my personal beauty therapist, which means that she had full access to my skin!!
It was okay when the treatment started excluding pain and 3hours spent lying down. Kate said that  I have very "thin" and sensitive skin because I was bleeding each time she tried to extract a pimple! I didn't know how bad it was since I couldn't look into a mirror..
When the treatment session was over, I prepared myself for the nagging and begging of them for me to sign a treatment agreement with them. I would give it a 2nd thought IF I didn't glance into the mirror for 3sec. GOSH!! my cheeks were so flushed and swollen with traces of blood still oozing out from my fresh scars and  tingling sensation. It worsen when they engaged 30min persuading me into the "contract", which I refused all at once. They thought that I didn't have enough money (well, it's partially true since the treatment of 20 sessions cost RM4000) so they drastically reduced it to a reasonable price exclusively for me (they claimed, that was...RM5 as deposit)!!
I was too annoyed to listen to their persuasion and literally threw a RM 10 notes on their faces since Anand and his mom were waiting for me outside the outlet for more than 30min!
Upon leaving the NEW YORK SKIN SOLUTION outlet, I knew that I will be their words of mouth for some time before hunting for the next prey.
Hey, NYSS IOI outlet, even though you offered me free treatment, that doesn't mean that I must be treated by a trainee or new staff!
It was practically Free but I definitely 'paid' more than what it has cost...
When I reached home that day, Anand's mom suggested me to "bedak sejuk" which does a wonder to my skin condition til date! She said that it will calm 'angry' skin and has a soothing effect and I strongly agree to it after trying it for the 1st time...

So, dear readers, don't be fooled by beauty parlors or salons which carry an authentic name but serve a phony service.  And dear beauty parlors, don't spoil your reputation..
Though there are many that do serve wonders to our skin, just be careful, ask your friends, go online and check for reviews in forum or else where before stepping into traps just like I did : 9
I'm lucky enough to recover in less than 1 week from the damage they did on me!! ***After all, we are not deserved to have this kind of treatment!

Shawshank Redemption

Tim Robbins as Andrew Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Another novel turned great movie which topped the IMdb list by director Darabont. It is an adaptation of Stephen King's novel regarding a banker (Tim Robbins) accused of killing his beloved wife and her lover. The verdict pronounced 2 consecutive life sentences in Shawshank State Penitentiary.

Andrew and Ellis doing their favourite pass time

In the can, he befriended Ellis Boyd (Morgan Freeman) while secretly planned strategies to escape from the "hell". Andrew went through loads of discrimination and bully  from Warden Norton and other inmates while surviving on the mere support of fellow friend, Ellis.
Well, in the end, as I remember, Andrew crawled through a sewerage which is the size of 5 football fields! Leaving himself filthy but Free..Finally, he wrote Ellis a letter guiding him to a place which he(Andrew) once spent time with his beloved late wife and left some amount of money and a note reminding Ellis Zihuatanejo. Ellis violated his parole and reunited with Andrew at a beach..

American History X

Edward Norton as David Vinyard in American History X

Saw this fantastic movie 1-2 weeks back and since then had different opinions on skinheads. The story begins with when the principle of Daniel Vinyard (who has a brother serving 3 years sentences in jail) insisted Daniel to write an assay on his brother (David) with the title of " American History X ". David commited numerous crimes tries to prevent his younger brother (Daniel) in trailing up his own path but ends up tearfully. This movie shows the life of skinheads in America. Deeply moved by the plot.

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

I have never imagined myself sitting and watching a movie morbidly taking up 2-3 hours of my time. To be frank, I'm not (well, I was not) a movie bimbo type of person. I didn't bother about introduction of a movie, didn't bother about the plot, didn't bother about the ending, not even the title, all I have wanted to see was the climax "Come on, don't give me all these shits, tell me straight to the point what's these all about."
I personally defined Movies as - Collections of faking individuals communicating in scenes and through actions that beat around the bush and ending up beating around more bushes.
but when I'm writing this blog, I realised that my previous interpretations on movies clearly illuminate my personality to others. As simple as not wanting to proceed according to a movie and wanting to jump to the climax and conclusion reflects how ignorant I was towards the process of life. It is like to achieve something without working hard on it. Something like, taking the easy steps.

Oh my, somebody must be familiar with this..yes, that is peculiar Jack Nicholson in One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest(1975). It was a novel turned movie of the 1962 novel by Ken Kensey. I was truly overwhelmed by the contents of the story regarding R.P. McMurphy (Jack) in his short stay evaluation at a mental institution. His stay brought changes to the ward both positively and negatively. At the end of the movie, when he tried to escape from the institution to freedom, authority caught him and done some irreversible damage to him which has indirectly forced him to expiry.
This movie has me opened up to issues on how millions of people are treated daily. It does not need to be specifically in a mental institution. but try to think that when you are eating your favourite meat at Chili's Restaurant, well, it could be as simple as while you are walking on a pedestrian path to IOI Mall, whistling, someone on one side of the world is being treated against the simplest moralities, but sadly, We are too occupied to realise so little..
