Tim Robbins as Andrew Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Another novel turned great movie which topped the IMdb list by director Darabont. It is an adaptation of Stephen King's novel regarding a banker (Tim Robbins) accused of killing his beloved wife and her lover. The verdict pronounced 2 consecutive life sentences in Shawshank State Penitentiary.
Andrew and Ellis doing their favourite pass time
In the can, he befriended Ellis Boyd (Morgan Freeman) while secretly planned strategies to escape from the "hell". Andrew went through loads of discrimination and bully from Warden Norton and other inmates while surviving on the mere support of fellow friend, Ellis.
Well, in the end, as I remember, Andrew crawled through a sewerage which is the size of 5 football fields! Leaving himself filthy but Free..Finally, he wrote Ellis a letter guiding him to a place which he(Andrew) once spent time with his beloved late wife and left some amount of money and a note reminding Ellis Zihuatanejo. Ellis violated his parole and reunited with Andrew at a beach..
